The Door into Summer

The Door into Summer by Robert A. Heinlein is a science fiction novel with a very appealing premise: an inventor is cryogenically frozen for thirty years and awakens in a future where he must settle scores with the people who froze him against his will. The story combines revenge, nostalgia, and technological speculation with a pleasant and easy-to-follow pace. Its greatest strength is the human dimension of the protagonist and his struggle to recover what he has lost. However, the introduction of time travel feels somewhat forced and less natural than the rest of the story. Overall, it is an interesting and worthwhile read, even if not entirely flawless.
The cover has a strong classic charm, with a retro aesthetic that evokes the golden age of science fiction.
